American Humanist Association
Humanist of the Year

Since 1953, the American Humanist Association has named a "Humanist of the Year" to recognize a person who "has made a significant contribution to the improvement of the human condition" while embracing "humanist values." Humanists believe that people can and have a responsibility to lead lives dedicated to the "greater good of humanity" without having to believe in God or the supernatural. www.americanhumanist.org/AHA/Humanists_of_the_Year
