Rosalie Bertell, the "No-Nukes Nun" has been a lifelong advocate for environmental health and for women's participation in decision making about peace and the environment. She received the 1986 Right Livelihood Award "...for raising public awareness about the destruction of the biosphere and human gene pool, especially by low-level radiation." Rosalie Bertell was also one of the women nominated for the 20005 Nobel Peace Prize as part of the 1000 Women for Peace campaign.
