Herbert Jeffrey Hancock is an Academy Award and 10 time Grammy Award-winning jazz composer and pianist. Many consider Herbie Hancock one of the most important and influential jazz composers of all time. He is a Nichiren Buddhist and is a member of the international Japan-based organization, Soka Gakkai International, which promotes cultural exchange and understanding among all peoples and seeks to make the world a better place by applying Buddhist beliefs to daily life. Herbie Hancock's nonfiction book, The Buddha In Your Mirror was an international bestseller. Hancock is also the founder of ROLO, the Rhythm of Life Organization that works to use technology to help create a better world.
